Who We Are
MidShore Meals til Monday (MtM) is working to end childhood hunger on Maryland’s Eastern Shore by providing food for food-insecure children in Dorchester County. MtM sends home healthy, nutritious food for children each school week and during the summer months to bridge the hunger gap. MtM works with the school system and community partners to ensure children can thrive and reach their fullest potential. During the pandemic, our volunteers have been providing more than 700 bags weekly through our distribution channels along with monthly food give-away opportunities for families that include frozen meats, canned and baked goods, and produce.
Women & Girls Fund of the Mid-Shore

The Women & Girls Fund is an endowed fund that channels the pooled resources of individuals into a powerful and permanent legacy serving the needs of women and girls in Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne’s and Talbot Counties, Maryland. The fund recently awarded grants for 2021 totaling $49,318 to 12 Mid-Shore non-profit organizations. In addition, the fund also presented annual awards to exceptional community members who have made professional or personal contributions towards understanding and addressing the needs of women and girls in the Mid-Shore region. The 2021 recipient of the Sheryl V. Kerr Award was Leslie Bishop, Founder and Director of MidShore Meals til Monday. The Women & Girls Fund noted that due to Ms. Bishop’s outstanding leadership of MidShore Meals til Monday, Dorchester County Public School students experiencing food scarcity are receiving not only a critical source of weekend food, but they and their families are receiving a constant reminder that somebody cares for them. A cash gift of $2,500 to further the mission of MtM accompanied the award. The Women and Girls Fund has been a sponsor of MtM for the last few years. In 2019 and 2020 MtM was awarded a total of $13,812.50 in grants and donations from the fund. MtM is grateful for the ongoing sponsorship and support from our partners at The Women and Girls Fund.
Feeding America
The Feeding America network is the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization securing and distributing 4.3 billion meals each year through food pantries and meal programs. Feeding America is funded by individuals, charities, businesses and the government with the goal of ending hunger across the country. They work to get nourishing food – from farmers, manufacturers, and retailers – to people in need. At the same time, they also seek to help the people they serve to build a path to a brighter, food-secure future. They accomplish these goals by providing food to a network of food banks nation-wide and working with manufacturers, distributors, retailers, food service companies and farmers to gather food before it goes to waste. They also focus on improving nutrition by providing food banks with a healthy variety of foods, such as fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, low-fat dairy and lean protein. Feeding America works with the Maryland Food Bank which in turn supplies Midshore Meals till Monday most of the food distributed through their school partnership programs and community food give-aways.
